How do send a whole movie ? How do you format it to send it ? That's been a wish of mine since I got the Verus, A forum where you can post the whole movie , not just a screen shot. Plug a Verus in at one end and have someone across the country view the data, that would be useful.

Dont know about verus but with solus whwn viewed in graph mode there is a save button in the top right of the screen and you can save as movie or frame or image.
After saving you have to connect to a pc using the tools option from main menu when connected to pc you can go into the solus through the pc and drop and drag file to the pc. Then use the attach feature for email and send to anyone you want. You then have to have Shop Stream Connect to view the file.

It's actually easier than that if you save the files (movies, frame saves, screen shots in bitmap or jpeg) to a USB stick. LOL
Then you just carry the USB-stick to your laptop or PC. It's lighter than a Solus or a Modis or a Verus. LOL

          rough idle

i had a one that did the same thing. does it matter how much fuel is in the tank.this might not be the problem.but the have tank valve problems. when it start to run rough check purge hose at plenum. remove hose and see if you see gas running out. also check the fuel pressure and leak down. pump has problem, the transfer pump bleeds down and can't hold pressure or transfer fuel fast enough. let me no.

I recently had an 05 Chrysler with a 5.7 hemi with code P2302, insufficient ionization of coil one. This code demonstrates the need to see the burn time of the spark as you may not neccessarily feel a misfire because of the dual sparkplug layout. A shorter burntime on two opposing coils could also indicate a lean cylinder. I made a short video on bench testing the hemi coils, one on a good coil and one on a bad coil http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukFKm...eature=channel Hope the link works OK or you can see my other Verus videos by googleing Mrgreasybob

Here's the scanner and scope shots. The link to the video works now.

You all are not going to believe this but the problem quit for a long time but started back up 3 days ago, and came back with a vengance. It now starts skipping within a 1/2 mile of starting from dead cold. It will not stop skipping until I cycle the ignition off then back on. It has set a code in the pending codes section of my MODIS. P-0301 Vehicle has 60k on it and had original Champion copper tops in it. The #1 plugs didnt look bad at all. I changed out all 16 plugs, reset the code and drove on. Last night, dead cold, started skipping again and set another P-0301 Would the coil act like this?? Skip until you cycled key off then back on?? I have never seen a coil act like that so I am kind of leary about it. My cost is $43 on a new coil at dealer. Its not that much but I'm not known for being a parts changer, I like to confirm a problem.

Have a new computer with Windows 7 so I lost my SS connect. Having hard time relocating SS to reload in computer.

Best thing to do is have the Modis hooked up next time you do a cold start and start recording as many drivability PIDS as you can. Then review and compare the data of when the problem exists and when it's not there, some thing should jump out. Just a side note of interest An employee here has a Hemi truck, 04, always complained of extende cranks and run rough when cold, Found fuel pump leaking back when shut off, replaced but didn't totally solve the problem. Found the purge valve not sealing, so replaced that, been good ever since. Strange thing is that it had no evap codes. Reviewing movie PIDs the best course of action here I think. A shorted coil should set burn time codes.

I'm sorry guys that I cant post data. My XP computer with Shop Stream crashed. I have new computer with Windows 7 and no Shop Stream. Heres the latest with it. I want to thank you guys so much for all the tips. I am in no way a drivability guy so a lot of drivability #'s on the scanner look greek to me. I'm just a lone trans guy. LOL. Still getting P-0301. I have 16 new OEM plugs in it. I swapped coils #1 and #5, no change still get P-0301. Heres the kicker though, when engine is skipping, I get strong odor of raw fuel in engine compartment which is leading me to believe that #1 is getting fuel but no spark. If I swapped coils, the coil should be good and the spark problem is coming somewhere before the coil. I really dont think I have a fuel pressure or bleed down problem since #1 is the only one affected AND when #1 cuts off it cuts off like someone is throwing a switch to cut it off then after 4 minutes or so #1 comes back to life like someone turned it on by a switch. Mode 06 misfire data says 2300 misfires on #1 in that 4 minute period. None of the other cylinders had any misfires. It will then run fine all day long until the engine is dead cold again. The colder it is outside the worse the skipping. So you can see I only have about 4 minutes a day to try to diagnose it. Two days ago I unplugged the #1 injector then plugged it back in and it hasnt skipped again in those two days.

                    Thanks, Charles

it may be a leaking or sticking injector. I would look more at that.

                        **update**

Just wanted to update everyone on the status of the HEMI. Sorry it took some time to get back but the vehicle was sitting for several weeks while I was out of town taking care of my mother who was having heart issues. While out of town, I sent it off to the dealer to be checked. Problem was in the MDS system. Tech said there was a broken plunger in one of the MDS lifters for cylinder #1 causing oil pressure to bleed off causing the valve not to open properly when started cold. Apparently this is a common problem according to them because there is an updated MDS lifter. I have ordered all new lifters and MDS solenoids and I'll be tearing the heads off and rebuilding the MDS system next week. Thanks everyone for the help with this headache.
