okay so, i'm making progress. got the new data cable for the PTP3, laptop arrived and i've gotten as far as getting the tool box software installed, going to a/c delco tds site, I decided to start with buying one vehicle programming access. I got the software installed. Had a problem with it reading the vin. Ended up having wrong driver installed. Got that fixed and now the GM software sees the vin when connected to a vehicle. I have not proceeded any further as I simply have not had the time. But i have a question about the tech2 win and GDS software access. The 3 days access is that on a 72 hr timer as soon as i get it? or is it on a timer as far as usage of the software?

The software is on a 3 day as soon as you buy it.. The programming is good for 2 years on a specific vin , only for as many module there are associated with that vin. That is, older vehicle might only have 2 module that can be programmed, but newer vehicles could have 20 or more modules. It doesn't matter which modules you program, but that the number of times you use subscription for that vin. You can flash pcm 20 times if needed.

Okay so been a little busy lately. But I wanted to say I got it working and I have already done my first flash on a 2010 gmc terrain liftgate module. Went very easy. Think I got lucky for the first time lol. Oh and I got a good deal on a solor PL6800 maintainer/charger which I really really like. So I gotta ask greasybob i cant help but ask what the heck did i miss on your last few posts?

Purchased the 40Amps West Marine Portable Charger. I originally thought this was a charger with an internal battery. Lol. But I was wrong. Either way, it's still better than the chargers I see at the few shops I've been too. This one is miles better. Thanks again for recommending it. It's really cheap right now, at $101, I purchased the 2 year warranty just to be safe. If it fails, they'll fix it right up or send me a new one. If discontinued, guess they'll send me the newest model or something. Either way, looks great!
