    Help with choosing a scanner

Hello, guys. I am looking to purchase a used scanner in the $700 range. Can I find a scanner that covers these requirements for $700?

Here's what I'd like to have:
    • Full bi-directional capabilities
    • Data logging (to a text file, not graphics or screen captures)

Specific capabilities that will be used in the near future:
    • Bi-directional control for a Honda evap system (have Snap-on's evap issues with Hondas been resolved?) on a 2000 Honda Accord
    • Looking at injector balance numbers on a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 with the 5.9L Cummins diesel engine
    • Looking at high pressure fuel pump pressure reading on the same 2003 Dodge Ram

I mentioned the specific capabilities because at any shop I've worked at, we have had at least two scanners to cover functionality that was lacking in the first scanner that was purchased.

    Thank you for any help.

Not trying to be rude but..... I think your going to have to bump up the $$$ to get what you want. Your asking for a lot and wanting to pay very little.

That was the guidance I was asking for, Steve.

If I drop the data logging requirement, does that bring the price down to the $700 range?

Find a used Ethos EDGE. Not any other type of Ethos. Just the Edge.
It can do what any other Snap-on scanner can do, functionality-wise.
It can graph, record, play back. Access FCA vehicles. Access Ford Protected Tests. Still updateable.
        Just no troubleshooting help.

That's about right. I see them on Facebook Marketplace in the $700.00 range if you're patient. They list for a lot higher than that, so you're right about it not being something you see every day.
