    Vantage Pro Users

I was wondering from all the VP users, if you were using the secondary ignition adaptor.

I was just wondering what your thoughts were, does it work well.

I would like to here from you, good or bad.

    Thanks.

I use it for my Modis and it works great. Another tech in the shop borrows it for his V-pro also with good results. Its big $$$ but if you do a lot of DIS its worth it.

I have a MODIS but it uses the same kit for DIS and it works great. Do not use it a great deal but the times I've needed it, it has been the key....

            Failure to upload

Failure to upload is usually due to the size of the file. If you run into this you can
            a. Convert the file to a jpg if it is a snapshot.
This will usually make it small enough to meet the size limit
            b. Compress it into a zip file if it is a movie.
Again this usually compresses it enough to get passed the size limitations.

Vantage PRO waveforms Using SIA 2000 Adapter

I will try sending you some files hopefully they are not too large to go through.

The SIA Adapter works well on both the MODIS and Vantage PRO.
These were captured on a waste spark system

For coil on plug I view only one coil at a time.
The adapters are much cheaper but also work well.
I can add those waveforms if you want, but it is a slow process.

                Hope this helps, Dyno Dave

                  Vantage Pro Adapters

Hi Chris, I use the SIA 2000 and COP adapters in my scope classes. They work well. A place to preview these is in your VP. Look down in Save Data and you will find actual screen shots from live cars . The engineers used the tools you inquire about to capture and save these. An adapter you can purchase for not a lot of money is the Secondary ignition clip on adapter # EETM306A02. This can be used on any application using spark plugs. The lead needed to hook this up is # EETA309A05. If you want to Get the Inductive RPM pick up # EETM303A05 you can see the entire KV spark on multiple cylinders.( conventional ignition systems). To do this simply hook the ignition adapter to the COIL wire, and the RPM pick up to the #1 cylinder spark plug. ON coil pack systems you can view cylinders one at a time. The MODIS owners already have this capability since these are standard adapters in the MODIS package. Hope this helps, later.

I will try sending you some Movie files I captured on an actual problem vehicle, before and after the fix. The number 1 spark plug was fouled.
hopefully they are not too large to go through.

Movies and files of ignition here

Here are some pics and movies. #067 BMW shows the fouled cylinder before the repair.
Actual problem vehicle a 1997 Chevy S-10 Truck 2.2L engine.
The number one cylinder was fouled notice the low voltage on cylinder #1 which would drop out. Then after replacing the plug on the firing KV matched.
The signal was captured using the Vantage PRO along with the SIA 2000 adapter leads.

Appears to have gone through this time!

Notice on file user #067 That spark plug #1 had a low KV due to a partially fouled plug causing
                      a misfire.

                      hope you can load this.

Still having problems getting waveform on this forum, even with the file size under limits. I'll email you the correct file this time

Thanks Steve, Got them just fine. Looks good.

I think I will need to add this to my list of stuff to get.

BTW being able to email files back and forth with ShopSteam Connect is pretty cool.
